Third grade isn't easy for Sam. He has a hard time reading and writing, and his classmates tease him.

When a creature from another planet climbs into Sam's tree house, he gives Sam a gift: a pencil guaranteed to help in school.

At school, Sam uses the pencil for writing prompts and reading tests, and he gets every answer right. He can't believe it!

Soon, the furry, blue alien returns and teaches Sam a lesson about the special pencil and the boy who uses it.
