The Color of Death

Great start. Captures your interest quickly and draws you in, but after the description of the crime scene and what was done, I knew who had done it. Although the writers try to draw your suspicions onto others, if you know anything about behavioral science, you knew that is what was happening which made the rest of the story a bit of a letdown. Reminded me of Scott Turow's Presumed Innocent and the movie by the same name with Harrison Ford. This story had the same motive. Characters were well developed and interesting but to leave things hanging like they did, in a first novel? I say NO!

Once I started could not keep the book down. The story is very engaging, fast moving, well written. Kudos to Trey Gowdy, 5 star. Love his other books. Gray talent .

I’m about halfway through this book and it’s quite interesting. I must admit I only purchased it because I admired Mr Gowdy when he was in congress. I also watch Sunday Night in America’s and enjoy him on TV. Another reason, I lived and worked in Spartanburg for quite a few years. I’m enjoying the story and hope there will be a follow up book. Thank you for writing a story from a prosecutors viewpoint. I’ll keep watch for the sequel.

A true page turner that is hard to put down. Excellent story with multiple layers of complexity. Writing is superb and draws one in from the first sentence. Characters are well developed and multi-dimensional. Gowdy is simply an excellent storyteller and writer. The ending may leave you frustrated, but is some ways that mirrors life. Hopefully a sequel is in the works. If you like mysteries, legal and police procedurals, you won't regret buying this book.

Writing is clear, there are twists and turns that keep it interesting and keeps you guessing until the end. The characters are interesting and described well. This is a great book. I hope Trey Gowdy writes more fictions
